I gained!

I have gained TWO freaking pounds since yesterday WTF? I'm trying really hard not to get down on myself but geez 2 freaking pounds in one day? That should be unheard of. I have been watching The Biggest Loser lately. I'm up to season 6 right now and my god what those people have to do to lose the weight is insane and I'm just not sure I have that in me :( But I know that the work will be worth it in the end. I just lack the severe motivation to do it. I've just got to keep pushing myself and pushing myself and when I want to quit I have to push even harder. Unfortunately I don't have Bob or Jillian breathing down my neck, I just have me and my 2 beautiful boys that I want to see grow into 2 beautiful successful men. I'm determined to lose this weight! 50 pounds to go, but my first goal is to hit 210, we will go on from there. Until tomorrow then.........

Day 1 on phase 2

Day one of phase 2 is going great so far! Woke up this morning had some wonderfully tasty peanut butter oatmeal that actually didn't taste too bad. I was expecting it to taste kinda bland. But it wasn't bad at all. Still 211 and I started to get a little down on myself this morning but then I stopped myself and though, " well my god you just lost 9 freaking pounds the last 2 weeks, of course you haven't lost anymore yet." It's nice to know that I can talk myself down from being depressed. It's taken a lot to get me there. anyways short posting today gotta get a strength training session in.

South Beach

I have successfully finished phase 1 of the south beach diet!!! After 2 long weeks of having no fruit, sugar, carbs, etc. I can now eat oatmeal, fruit, and whole grains! I have to admit I'm a little worried about it though. I don't want to go back to the same crap as before weighing 220 and feeling sluggish all the time. I'm now 211 and I have 50 pounds to go! but those 9 pounds have come off in TWO weeks, now I don't mind if I lose a pound or two a week as long as I keep losing. I can't wait for the day when I can step on the scale and it says 190, 180, 170, 160! I have seen the light so to speak on healthy eating and I love it! God grant me the strength to continue on this journey to a healthy body!!!

Summer is here..........

Wow it is about 88 degrees up here in Vermont. Lately I haven't been on my computer much. I've been outside pretty much constantly. Raking, mowing, weeding, gardening, we fixed out road, built a couple of pretty stone walls, built a circular garden and planted some beautiful pink, white, and purple flowers. I went out last weekend and bought a cheap sprinkler and oh boy do the boys like it. Every day since then they have gone out and soaked themselves. It's so nice knowing that something so small can bring my kids together to help them play and get along with each other. Despite the huge age difference, (there are 10 years between them) they really do get along great!
Spring and summer are my favorite times of year and really make my happy being a stay at home mom because when my chores are done for the day I can go outside and relax in a chair with some sweet tea and tan or burn in my case LOL.
Only new thing we've got going on over here is that we adopted a new kitten into our family. Her name is Bella and she's a beautiful 10 week old calico with the most amazing coloring and prettiest eyes I've ever seen. Pictures to come later. Now back to the yard..............

Outside play!

Got some fantastic outdoor time today. Walked Wyatt to the Dr.s today. He was such a big boy about seeing the doctor. I was soo proud of him. We got in there and he did a wonderful job of just sitting there playing with his trucks until the nurse called us in. Then we found out that he's now too big for the infant scale and got to use the big boy one boy did that make his day! He weighs 30 lbs. which is about a 4 pound jump from when he had his last check up 6 months ago, and he's 36" tall! A 2" increase since the last time we went. He's a little bit over 95% for his height and 55% for his weight. While we waited for the Dr, him and I sat on the floor and played with his trucks and imagine Wyatt's surprise when the Dr. came in and sat on the floor with us and started playing with him! The dr. said we are doing everything right with him and that I must be a fantastic mother because my child seems so healthy and happy. That totally made my day coming from a guy who is about 70 years old and has been a pediatrician for about 35 years to tell me that I'm a great mother! It meant soo much specially for me because when I first had my oldest son Dylan I was only 16. I got an alarming amount of scrutiny from just about everyone I had to deal with on a daily basis. I think it made me strive that much harder to be an excellent mom. Mainly I think because I wanted to prove everyone wrong and also because the second I became a mother I knew I was going to do everything in my power to raise my son right. It was like something in my head clicked and I immedietly went into mother mode and haven't come out yet lol. Can't wait till we get pregnant again and I'm hoping for the priviledge to welcome a baby girl into this family. But I would be just as thrilled to welcome baby boy number 3!

In knitting news,

I finished my son's beautiful fall/spring jacket and it fits him perfectly.

The buttons on it are made of rubber and they have little monkeys on them I thought the monkeys were appropriate considering that is his favorite animal and he sometimes acts like one lol but I think most kids act like monkeys at some point!

A picture of the cutey sitting on Grampa's lap with the sweater on. I think it fits him to a tee!
Since I finished that and it wasn't all that hard I'm now working on a tan bolero/shrug for myself. It's knit up all in one piece starting at one sleeve, then working the body, then finishing at the other sleeve then working up a collar separately. So far I'm about 80% through the first sleeve. Might take me a bit to finish it because since the little one has come running into terrible twos head on. I have found that my only knitting time is now when he's in bed for the night. So I only get about an hour or so at night and frankly sometimes I'm even too tired to do anything but crash into the pillows hard and pass right out LOL Gotta love a day in the life as a stay at home mommy!

Horcrux Socks

Finished up my Horcrux socks yesterday but didn't have any pics to put on my last post. I made them in Caron Simply Soft Heather, in a nice mint Green color. They came out super soft and stretchy. I love them, I think they are the first pair of socks that I made that I absolutely are in love with. I've made others and weren't quite impressed afterwards. Last night I started on some Mary Janes from a crochet pattern that I got off of Ravelry. I finished the first slipper in about 2 hours last night and am going to start the other while the baby is napping this morning. I used some Peaches and Cream Cotton in a stripey color way. The first one came out great and I can't wait to wear them. Anyways on to the pics:

Here they are a whole pair I'm soo proud of myself :P

A close up of the scar very cool!
and here's my giant foot LOL

Knitting issues

I know that I haven't posted in a long time but I haven't been knitting too much this past winter. I had some very painful problems with my hands so bad were they that I could barely even bend them. They were itchy and peeling, and they would bleed and blah blah you don't need all the yucky details. anyways they have gotten a bit better now so I've been knitting a bit lately I'll post some great pics of some of the FO's that I've done lately.

This is a bag I made out of wool, I haven't felted it yet but it's going to be a knitting bag to carry my latest project with me for car rides. We live out in the boondocks and it takes at least 30 minutes to even go to the grocery store. Since it DH always drives I like to knit but don't want to keep things in my purse they get lost that way. So this is perfect.

This is a striped sock I'm making using some redheart sock yarn. It's going very slowly and I have been working on it since before my hands decided to not work on me. I am now a little further than this pic though and only have about 3 inches left on the foot and toe. but I still have a whole nother sock to knit :(

This is a cute little Amigurumi bee that I made. I got the pattern off of the LionBrand website they have a TON of these patterns for free. This is one of the first things I've crocheted where I actually followed a pattern. I love how it turned out and my LO loves it. I have since made an Elephant named Ellie and a bunny rabbit named Buster. Don't have pics of them yet but they were made using Vanna's Choice Baby.
I have also made a pair of mint green Horcrux Sock in Worsted Weight yarn. I finished the second one in about 2 days, I've come to realize that I love making socks if they knit up quick so I think I'm going to stick to making worsted weight socks. I'll post pics of them when I finally take pics of them :P Anyways thats my progress. Till Next Time.................
