Outside play!

Got some fantastic outdoor time today. Walked Wyatt to the Dr.s today. He was such a big boy about seeing the doctor. I was soo proud of him. We got in there and he did a wonderful job of just sitting there playing with his trucks until the nurse called us in. Then we found out that he's now too big for the infant scale and got to use the big boy one boy did that make his day! He weighs 30 lbs. which is about a 4 pound jump from when he had his last check up 6 months ago, and he's 36" tall! A 2" increase since the last time we went. He's a little bit over 95% for his height and 55% for his weight. While we waited for the Dr, him and I sat on the floor and played with his trucks and imagine Wyatt's surprise when the Dr. came in and sat on the floor with us and started playing with him! The dr. said we are doing everything right with him and that I must be a fantastic mother because my child seems so healthy and happy. That totally made my day coming from a guy who is about 70 years old and has been a pediatrician for about 35 years to tell me that I'm a great mother! It meant soo much specially for me because when I first had my oldest son Dylan I was only 16. I got an alarming amount of scrutiny from just about everyone I had to deal with on a daily basis. I think it made me strive that much harder to be an excellent mom. Mainly I think because I wanted to prove everyone wrong and also because the second I became a mother I knew I was going to do everything in my power to raise my son right. It was like something in my head clicked and I immedietly went into mother mode and haven't come out yet lol. Can't wait till we get pregnant again and I'm hoping for the priviledge to welcome a baby girl into this family. But I would be just as thrilled to welcome baby boy number 3!

In knitting news,

I finished my son's beautiful fall/spring jacket and it fits him perfectly.

The buttons on it are made of rubber and they have little monkeys on them I thought the monkeys were appropriate considering that is his favorite animal and he sometimes acts like one lol but I think most kids act like monkeys at some point!

A picture of the cutey sitting on Grampa's lap with the sweater on. I think it fits him to a tee!
Since I finished that and it wasn't all that hard I'm now working on a tan bolero/shrug for myself. It's knit up all in one piece starting at one sleeve, then working the body, then finishing at the other sleeve then working up a collar separately. So far I'm about 80% through the first sleeve. Might take me a bit to finish it because since the little one has come running into terrible twos head on. I have found that my only knitting time is now when he's in bed for the night. So I only get about an hour or so at night and frankly sometimes I'm even too tired to do anything but crash into the pillows hard and pass right out LOL Gotta love a day in the life as a stay at home mommy!
